Baby Loss Support Group – Singletons and All Multiples

Loss of a child is a life altering experience for parents. Although less often hidden from public discussion as it once was decades ago, loss of a baby is still often not understood by friends, family, employers, and the public. The loss of a baby effects people in different ways, but most parents say no one understands as well as someone who has gone through it. This support group is for parents who have lost a baby or babies (all babies from a twin or higher order multiple pregnancy) who seek the support of others.

Baby Loss Support Group – Multiples with a Survivor(s)

Enduring the loss of a baby while simultaneously celebrating and caring for the life of a newborn(s) is a unique, and often overwhelming and confusing experience for parents. Attending baby loss support groups with parents who have lost a singleton can be challenging for parents who have a surviving twin or triplet baby(s) for a variety of reasons. This support group is for bereaved parents who have lost a twin or triplet baby(s) that also have a surviving multiple(s). Bringing an infant(s) to this group is discouraged. However, due to several possible challenges, this is not always possible. Therefore, surviving infants are permitted in this group. If informed ahead of time, we will do our best to provide care for surviving multiples in a nearby room so that you may focus on your loss.

Caregiver Support Group

This group is for spouses, family members, and good friends who are caring for a loved one with a life threatening or terminal illness and associated physical, practical, and/or emotional needs. We will focus on common challenges caregivers may experience, such as feeling unsupported, exhausted, burdened and conflicted emotions.

Family Support Group ~ Palliative Care

This support group is for family members of an individual who is dealing with a life threatening condition and is seeking non-curative comfort care. This is a place to acknowledge and process the experiences that arise in accompanying a family member through treatment goal changes and life and death decisions.

Family Support Group ~ End-of-Life

This support group is for family members of an individual in an inpatient or an outpatient hospice or similar setting and/or is in the end-of-life stages of development. We are not affiliated with hospice, though we are familiar with the hospice philosophy of care.

Pet Loss

Relationship with a beloved pet is characterized by unconditional love and often develops into a strong attachment. Grief of a pet can be particularly difficult to process when people around the bereaved do not understand the depth of the emotional relationship and the experience of loss. This group is for pet owners that have lost a beloved pet family member and wish to gain the support of others enduring a similar type of loss.
